2023 – Tightest Race EVER!!

Wow!  What a great race!  You guys rocked that course!

We have never had such tight results!  The difference between the top 5 teams was 20 points!

The difference between the 1st and 2nd place in the Men’s category was 19 seconds!! (The teams were tied for points.)

Racers carried over 2000 lbs. of food over 1 km. to donate to the Root Cellar (Food Bank)!  Thank you all so much for carrying that load for a good cause!

We had a fantastic time designing this course and organizing the event for you. Thank you all for coming!

Hope to see you next year.  (Don’t forget to tell your friends what a great time you had!)

Full Race results are now posted on the Results Page

2020

MARCH 31, 2020
The Medicine Hat Massacre Adventure Race Planning Team and Race Director have made the extremely tough decision to cancel this year’s SEASAR Medicine Hat Massacre Adventure Race.

As a planning team we have spent the last week discussing every possible option we could think of. We are in uncharted territory with respect to community and public health and we feel that it is imperative that we do our part to keep our racers and our community healthy and safe.

Please know that we did not take this decision lightly.

THANK YOU
We need to stop for a moment and say thank you. Our little race went through some big growth this year! Thank you to the returning racers who spread the word and encouraged some of their crazy friends to join. Thank you to the new racers who jumped right in. Thank you to the brave people who signed up for our new Massacre Lite race.

A huge thank you also goes out to all of our sponsors. (Please support some of these awesome local businesses during this challenging time!)

THE 2021 MEDICINE HAT MASSACRE ADVENTURE RACE
At this point, the 2021 MHM Race is still a go! We’ll keep you updated through email and Instagram.@mhmassacre #MHMassacre

FEES, REFUNDS, AND DONATIONS
Ah yes, the awkward part. Let’s talk about money. As you may know, the Medicine Hat Massacre Race is owned and operated by South Eastern Alberta Search and Rescue (SEASAR). Any surplus revenue from the race is donated to SEASAR to help support members with training and equipment.

RACERS
ALL RACE FEES AND REGISTRATIONS WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY ROLLED FORWARD TO THE 2021 RACE. YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING.
Not sure if you’ll make the 2021 Race? No problem. Send us an email and we will process the refund on Race Roster, or if you are inclined, let us know and we would gladly accept it as a donation to SEASAR. All donations are eligible for a tax receipt.

Take care of your family, friends, and neighbors (from 6ft away)!

All the best,

Medicine Hat Massacre Adventure Race

Highs tomorrow in Medicine Hat forecast to be 28 C!

What a difference a week makes.  Last week we were making contingency plans if the roads were still snowed in, now we’re looking for great conditions!  The race course is really looking good!

Only 10 days left to register.  This is when registration really heats up! Don’t delay, sign up today!

0.5 points/lb for all other donations.
Don’t let the late spring get you down.  Adventure Race season is here!

Is Spring on the Horizon?

Most of Alberta has had a touch of warmer weather this week. For most it was a welcome change after February’s record snow and cold (except for this Powder Hound who loved every minute)!

That means that Spring Training (Adventure Race style) is soon off and running. Our course is still under the snow, but I am scouting some great new terrain for you again this year. Put all that extra Daylight you are Saving to good use, and get outside!

See you in May!

Early Bird Deadline Feb 28

Early Birds get the worms! But the worms are running out!
The deadline for discounted registration is coming to an end. Feb 28 midnight is the cutoff.
Regsiter now. Registration is heating up!

2018 Race

Yes! The 2018 race is a go!!

Once again we are planning to use the spectacular terrain of Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park as our playground as racers navigate their way on bike, on foot, and paddling.  We start in the dark for a true challenge of navigation skills.

Designed for athletes of all skill levels, join us in May for an unforgettable experience!
